Lactation Information and Resources Recommended by Centre Pediatrics

Lactation Consultants:  These consultants and all IBCLCs (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant)  which means they have trained as lactation experts and have had clinical hours in lactation.  This is a good choice if you need one on one attention and if you would like and in-home visit.  All of the lactation consultants communicate directly with us via phone or fax and update us regularly on your visits.   Please be sure to give them our contact telephone 617 735-8585 and fax 617 232-0572.  Lactation visits are typically an out of pocket expense at first, however the LC will give you paperwork that you can file with your insurance company.  We recommend contacting your insurance company ahead of time to find to get an estimate of your allowed coverage.  Thanks to the Affordable Care Act, many insurance companies will cover visits as well as breast pumps.
